In addition, If you are thinking about some new landscaping make sure to check in with the Irvine Ranch Water District as they provide Rebates for Homeowners who replace lawns with drought-tolerant plants. The program offers $1.50/sq.ft.  As well keep in mind, you will be saving on your monthly water bill.
